First look: adidas Adizero Ubersonic tennis shoe

New for Fall 2015, the adidas Adizero Ubersonic!

New for Fall 2015, the adidas Adizero Ubersonic!

adidas now has a new flagship shoe for their speed-oriented adizero line – the UbersonicThis new premium offering features a super low to the ground ride that feels lightning quick on court and keeps you completely connected to your movement. Rubber was removed and strategically replaced by mesh in specific areas of the outsole to reduce weight and make the shoe ultra light and fast-feeling. Lastly, extra TPU protection wraps the toe area and medial side on the upper to give added protection for aggressive movers.

Rubber has been removed from the outsole where you don’t need it to reduce weight.

Our experts playtested the Ubersonic a few weeks ago and we can tell you that they all really enjoyed the shoe! They loved how light and fast they were, and the black and red cosmetic they had been testing looked awesome too. From a fit standpoint, the most noticeable aspect is a pretty high arch, making them perfect for players that like having a lot of support in that area. They are similar in that way to the Barricade (for those of you that are familiar). Other than that the shoe fits pretty true to size with a medium width. Transition to indoor tennis

Posted on October 17, 2014 in Tennis Life

The indoor season just started in a lot of European countries and therefore I would like to focus a little bit on the “going indoors” topic. The article focuses on footwear as I believe you can do a lot of good and bad by choosing the “right” or “not so right” products.

If you are mostly playing on carpet without granulate material on the surface, you should be looking for a pair of shoes with a flat outsole. This will help you avoid getting stuck or even injured. If you are playing in indoor facilities with carpet and granulate material, you can use tennis shoes with regular outsoles. It may be better to use hard court outsoles rather than clay court outsoles that can sometimes be too sticky and aggressive. However, please make sure to use tennis shoes that still have a profile and are not completely worn off from playing them all summer! From time to time, it does make sense to invest in your footwear for the winter season.

Having good people around

Posted on September 15, 2014 in Tennis Life

Today, more and more players – and not only the top ones like Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, Murray – surround themselves with a big team, people who are all experts in different fields. Besides having a bigger entourage, some of them even appointed former champions:

Becker, Ivanisevic, Mauresmo and Edberg
